The Apache Kid, a notorious renegade has been captured and is in transit to Yuma through Loma Parda. As one of his faithful posse, you aim to free him before he's brought to his final location. You've had good luck thus far on your mission, but perhaps your decisions will trigger your unfortunate demise. Will you, Bodaway, manage to free your friend The Apache Kid?

The decisions you make in this story will affect its outcomes.

Start story Credits

With no convoy in sight, I should decide what to do next.

Enough time has gone up the spout, I reckon I should probably do some recon (enter town) I can wait a little longer to ambush them... (stay outside)

I waited outside for too long, and The Kid is long gone. I should've tried to get some help.

Replay?

People are bustling through the main street, where there is a saloon, the sheriff's office, and a casino. I need help in rescuing The Apache Kid, so I gotta move fast.

Casinos are fun, maybe I can get some intel there (enter casino) Is there a place to grab a drink in this town? (enter saloon)
Could be dangerous, but maybe these people could help me out. The sheriff might help me out. (enter the sheriff's office)

I've never seen so many greenbacks lying around in my life! And who's this fella staring at me? Perhaps he's Kesef, the owner of the casino here in Loma Parda...

Now this is what I call a pay day! (pull out a gun) Let's see if he has anything to say.

The bar is crowded, and it's hard to decipher one person's face from the next... that is, except for the man whose face I could never forget. Colonel Sennep is managing the capture and transfer of The Apache Kid. He's also mean enough to steal a coin off a dead man's eyes. He's responsible for killing dozens of my people.

I am gonna to blow them all to kingdom come! I need to stay calm, maybe a drink will loosen me up. I am gonna to give Sennep everything he has comin' to him! I should see what is going on and get a better read of the room.

After firing a few shots of my own the bartender and bar owner, Cecil, cocks his gun and points it at me.

"Okay, okay, fine, I'll stop." Sennep is not getting out of here alive!

I start chatting with Cecil, the bar owner.

I seem to remember hearing he often gets drunk with his customers.

"So, did you hear anything about that convoy?" "Let me get you a drink, my friend!"

Sennep is a dead man, as far as I am concerned.

"You can slide, mister." I reckon I should lay low before he recognizes me.

Upon recognizing me, Sennep approaches me and starts gloating about how much he is going to enjoy watching The Apache Kid hang.

Time to kill this son of a bitch! Time to give this bastard what he deserves! I have to keep cool for The Kid.

When I draw my gun, shots are fired in both directions

Probably too good of an end for that bastard. I'll spit on his corpse as I leave the bar. (exit to main street) I died (unlucky)

I try to dodge the bullets coming my way...

But one bullet went straight through my brain (unlucky) Where am I? Why does my arm hurt so much?

As I pull my gun in response to Cecil, shots are fired in both directions.

Probably too good of an end for that bastard. I'll spit on his corpse as I leave the bar. (exit to main street) I died (unlucky)

Gosh darnit, I've been thrown in jail. This will definitely make rescuing The Kid harder.

Every man has a price (bribe them) "You seem like a reasonable man, Sheriff." "Sheriff, I mean you no harm. Just hear me out..."

The sheriff let me go, so now I am back on the main street.

Start liberation *point of no return* Whiskey would probably make this easier. (enter saloon) Although they could recognize me, these people might help me out. (talk to townsfolk) Casinos are fun, let's go there! (enter casino)

Who knew it would feel so good to sink my fist into Sennep's jaw?

"I'm going to string you up and watch you stop kicking!" Time to kill this son of a bitch!

Cecil's eyes narrow and I can tell my cover has blown.

I guess it's my cue to get the hell out of here. (exit to main street) "So, what about that convoy?"

Cecil, slurring his words, tells me that according to his other customers, the convoy will come to town around 4pm.

"Gotta go, thanks for the hog-killin' time, Cecil" (exit to main street)

Darn, I got nothing from Cecil

Time to start the liberation *point of no return* It may be dangerous, but the sheriff might help me out. (enter the sheriff's office)
Casinos are fun, let's go there (enter casino)

.

"Where are you taking me?"

Cecil nearly jawed me to death. But at least I have the information I need.

Start liberation *point of no return* It may be dangerous, but the sheriff might help me out. (enter the sheriff's office)
Casinos are fun, let's go there (enter casino)

Ornary Sennep deserved that whippin'. I don't even care that the sheriff's office has shown up to foil my fun.

"You don't have nothin' under that hat but hair. Let me go!"

Now the Sennep has been left for buzzard food, and I narrowly escaped the bar, I can either start the liberation of The Apache Kid or quit beatin' the devil around the stump and just talk to the sheriff before he comes for me.

I'm going to smooth things over with the sheriff himself (enter the sheriff's office) I have everything I need, I'm going to start the liberation *point of no return*

All hell breaks loose when I reach for my cannon and proceed to take what I want. Kesef's men point their own black-eyed Susans at me.

I'm full as a tick with this wealth, better get outta here. (exit to main street) I'll be counting worms from now on. (You died, how unlucky!)

As I thought, this man is Kesef, the owner of the casino. He's a big bug in this here town. It'd be prudent for me to remember that.

"Do you know anything about the convoy carrying The Apache Kid?" "Let's play a round of poker."

I escape the casino by the skin of my teeth and hide for a while. I cannot enter the sheriff's office for obvious reasons but the saloon is still open and there are some people on the main street.

Now's the time, I am going to start the liberation *point of no return* I need a drink (enter saloon) I could be raisin' sand, but these people could help me out (ask townsfolk)

This only ends a few different ways, a lot of them bloody.

I didn't get any help but it's time to make my move At least I got some help! I got a lot of help. I got all the help I could get.

Kesef recognizes me from a wanted poster and, like the wobblin' jaw he is, calls in authorities

"Where are you taking me, you cow turds?"

I slowly look at my cards...

Full house. I can't believe it! A pair of 4's, dad-blame it!

I slowly look at my cards...

Full house. I can't believe it! Hell fire, a high card!

My poker skills seem to impress Kesef. After a bit more conversatin', he gets to tellin' me about his crush on Rubis.

"I might be able to help you out with the future missus, if you help me with the convoy..."

"Double or nothing. Or I can just walk away."

Try again! I want to prove I can do better.
I'm going to call it quits and exit the casino (go back to the main street)

Back where I started, and still without help from Kesef.

Is there a place to grab a drink in this one horse town? (enter saloon) Maybe these gentle townsfolk could help me out The sheriff might assist me (enter the sheriff's office)

Kesef knows a good bet when he sees one and agrees to provide his men to aid in my mission. I thank him kindly and exit the casino.

Maybe the sheriff might help me (enter the sheriff's office) Is there a place to grab some scamper juice in here? (enter saloon) Start the liberation *point of no return* Could be dangerous but maybe these people could help me out

Can I really pull this off by myself?

The Apache Kid is still behind bars, and I was shot! I managed to save The Apache Kid on my own (very lucky)

I feel prepared for the mission thanks to the little help I got in town.

Get out of here while you can, Kid! You're outnumbered, so hand over The Apache Kid now!
I am shot! And The Apache Kid is still in custody.

I bribe authorities and they free me.

Start the liberation *point of no return*

According to townsfolk, the sheriff is an upstanding lawman, so I try to convince him that The Apache Kid is a good person. However, I can also see that he is clenching his fists and not in the best of moods.

Tell stories of the Apache Kid's history to appeal to him. I'm lookin' to get him mad enough to swallow a horn-toad backwards. (spit on the sheriff)

Back on the main drag, I keep replaying the conversation in my head. I told the sheriff stories of how in the army, Native American families including The Apache Kid's, were killed by Sennep and his soldiers. The sheriff is convinced to help me with liberation of The Apache Kid. He says that it's time to make things right.

Start the liberation *point of no return* Casinos are fun. Let's go there (enter casino)

It isn't long before I'm talking to the ace-high woman in this town (as far as all the men are concerned), Madame Rubis, who through her close contact with the army men is up-to-snuff on the whos and whats and whens of this town.

Madame Rubis really helped me out, time to skedaddle. (go back to the main street) As I talked to Rubis, I was recognized by one of the locals who decided to wake snakes.

Madame Rubis told me that there are going to be six people guarding the convoy.

I'm grinn' like a possum eatin' a yellow jacket, because The Apache Kid is freed! My mission is a success!

Replay?

The Apache Kid is saved, but even though I was heeled I bit the dust.

The Apache Kid remains in custody, despite all my fussin' around (unlucky).

I offer the men with the convoy some Lincoln skins to free The Apache Kid

I enter the local jailhouse and see the sheriff lookin' stumped. He attempts to lay his hands on me.

"Wait a second!" "You couldn't tell skunks for house cats, you have no idea who I am" (punch the sheriff)

I come to my senses and decide what to do next.

I should talk to the bartender I better cool down

Naturally, the sherrif was fit to be tied, so I have to remain in custody for a long time. The Apache Kid is never saved.
